Brief biography of Homer, author of ‘The Iliad’ and ‘The Odyssey’

Homer he was a famous greek poet and with whom Greek poetry begins, who is attributed two masterpieces of literature such as'The Iliad' Y 'The odyssey‘, Although in reality there is very little data on his life.

He lived in the 9th or 8th century BC., and several cities dispute his birth: Smyrna, Chios, Colophon, Ithaca, Pylos, Argos and Athens, but there are no concrete data.

He is credited with having been a wanderer, poor and blind and having died in Ios.

The Iliad

In ‘The Iliad’, Homer recounts the story of a period of the Trojan War, from the fury of Achilles when Agamemnon he takes away his favorite slave, Briseida, until the death of Hector, the quintessential Trojan hero, at the hands of Achilles and his funeral.
